Press release
November 20th, 2015

Henry Bolton OBE selected as UKIP Police & Crime Commissioner (PCC) Candidate for Kent.

UKIP is pleased to announce the selection of Henry Bolton as its PPC candidate for Kent. The elections will be held on May 5th 2016.
As well as being a former army and police officer, Henry is an international authority on police reform. His expertise and the results he achieved in strengthening border security and combatting organised crime earned him an OBE for services to international security.
Henry said, “I am delighted to have been selected as UKIP’s PCC Candidate for Kent. This is a marvellous opportunity to enhance policing across the county. Reduction of crime and anti-social behavior (and the fear of them), enhanced border management and improved safety on our roads will be among my first priorities. However, the strengthening of the bond between the police and all Kent communities will be fundamental”.
Despite the financial constraints imposed by central government, we cannot permit our police service to be stripped of the skills and capabilities that are the bedrock of preventative public safety. So, as PCC, whilst driving improvements in public safety and holding the Police to account, I will also hold the government responsible for the impact of centrally imposed cuts on the ability of the police to protect the public.
Nigel Farage said: “We are delighted to have someone of Henry’s background as our PCC candidate in Kent. His experience of driving police reform, securing borders and countering organised crime and terrorism, including setting strategic objectives and building partnerships to achieve them, is second to none. Given the policing challenges we face as a country, Henry’s skills are a significant asset”.
